It's been awhile since I've posted in DA. I'm still processing the occasional photo, but they usually are for friends and end up on face book. So, the serious photo projects are now pretty limited.  Like my recent startrail shot in Buzzard Bay, Massachusetts. Now along with my recent try at snow boarding, I'm looking to getting a GoPro camera.  With it, I can get wide shots and time lapse. Given its size, it can be placed almost anywhere.  That also makes it very inconspicuous.  There's no screen tho, so it's what I'd call "point and pray". Anyway, I'm still deciding if it really fits my budget. And on that, any inputs from anyone is welc

I tried my hand in shooting star trails last night in Biddinghuizen, Netherlands. For the last few weeks, it was raining and cloudy, so this was my chance. So there I was, out on the dock, wearing a winter jacket with two layers, Canon DSLR on a tripod on the sleet covered wooden dock, pointing up to Polaris. To pass the time, while I was waiting for the 20+minute exposure to finish, I just read a PDF on Cost of Doing Business for photographers, and listened to FFXIII soundtrack. I've been away from home for over a month....away from my fast desktop and it's big screen.  I miss the big keyboard, the bright wide color gamut screen, and the big trackball I use. Maybe there are other reasons, like my wife being with me on this foreign assignment; or my playing catch-up on a lot of games; but the end result is that I haven't post processed a lot of pictures in the past several weeks.  Thus, I haven't uploaded anything to deviantart.
